Strama

AI and your data

What Strama sends to an AI provider, what is kept, and how to turn it off.

What is sent

Only when you ask for it. Reading a financial statement sends the pages of the file you chose to upload (the whole file, or the page range you picked) so they can be read. An AI assist, such as a coach or a critique, sends the text you ask it to work on and the project facts it needs to answer.

Nothing is sent in the background, and nothing is sent when AI is off for the project.

Who receives it

Anthropic, the company behind Claude, acting as our processor. We use no other AI provider.

What is kept

  • The results of an extraction (the lines it found, with their page and printed amount) stay in your project until you delete them or the project.
  • The copy of your file that we hand to Anthropic, and the session that read it, are deleted from Anthropic's side after each job, or when you cancel it, delete the document, or turn AI off.
  • Strama keeps the file you uploaded privately for your project, so you can check each figure against its page. Deleting the document deletes the file and its page images.

Training

Under Anthropic's commercial terms, inputs sent through its API aren't used to train its models. We don't use your documents to train anything either.

Turning it off

The project owner can turn AI off in Settings at any time. Reading statements and the AI assists stop working, any extraction in progress is cancelled and its session deleted, and you can still enter figures by hand or import a spreadsheet. Anything an AI produced earlier keeps its AI-assisted label.

What stays your call

Nothing an AI reads or suggests enters your analysis until you accept it. Extracted figures need your approval, one period at a time, and each keeps its page.

Questions

A support address will be listed here before launch. Until then, ask your project owner.
